Shesh Mani Dahal, FCA

Shesh Mani Dahal is a Fellow Chartered Accountant qualified from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) with Bachelor’s in Laws (LLB) and Master’s in Business Studies (MBS) degree from Tribhuvan University having professional experience of more than a decade. Currently, he is working as a Senior Partner at SDR Associates, Chartered Accountants, A Member Firm of IR Global, UK. He is also an expert member of Revenue Committee of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).

Shesh is one of the highly regarded young professional especially in tax fraternity. He is an author of three different books including six editions of “The Purple Book of Tax”, “The Purple Book of Province Tax” and “The Purple Handbook of Corporate and Tax Laws” which are highly appreciated books of tax among tax professionals, professional accountants, private and public sector enterprises and CA Students. He has also worked as a resource person for writing of study material of Taxation for Chartered Accountancy Professional (CAP)-II and CAP-III course of ICAN.

Shesh has extensive experience working with national and international institutions on revenue policy formation and implementation. He has served as a consultant for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and as a Tax Specialist for the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI), Nepal Revenue Advisory Board (NRAB) - Government permanent structure of revenue policy formation. He has also worked as an Investigation Specialist for the Nepal Police, focusing on the investigation of financial fraud and crime. Currently, he is a Thesis Supervisor at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, specializing in international taxation, and serves as a Finance Consultant for the Social Welfare Council (SWC), where he monitors NGOs and INGOs.

Shesh, a practicing Chartered Accountant, takes an active lead in conducting internal and statutory audits for a diverse range of entities, including corporate entities, public sector enterprises, and NGOs/INGOs in Nepal. In addition, he has offered consultancy services for tax litigations and served as a tax planner for both national and multinational businesses in the country. Shesh has played a pivotal role as the main tax consultant for numerous renowned multinational businesses operating in Nepal.

Taxation and Accounting Standards are his core area of expertise, and he travels across Nepal to provide taxation and accounting standards trainings. He has provided training to more than 50,000 participants including ministers, ex-ministers, parliamentary members, tax officers, chartered accountants, registered auditors and government employees, all over the Nepal during his professional career. His articles are published in national daily leading newspapers and online medias like Kantipur, Naya Patrika, Annapurna Post, Setopati and Bizmandu including Souvenir of IRD.
